PNE: On 4 September, the first rotor blade arrives at the Sundern-Allendorf wind farm
- Rotor blades are transported from the transhipment area using the blade lifter
- 15 rotor blades, each approx. 80 metres long, over a distance of around 19.5 km
Sundern/Allendorf, 29 August 2025 – The first three rotor blades will arrive at the transhipment area in Müschede on the evening of 3 September. During the night of 4 September, from around 8 p.m., the first rotor blade will be transported by blade lifter (SPMT) to the site of the Sundern-Allendorf wind farm, which is currently under construction. The rotor blade will be moved at a speed of 6 to 12 km/h – just above walking pace. With the help of this heavy-duty machine, it can be manoeuvred safely and precisely through the town and city streets.
As the route and the associated obstacles will be travelled for the first time on 4 September, the exact time of arrival at the destination cannot yet be determined. There will be a day between each rotor blade transport, during which the blade lifter will return empty to the transhipment area. The next rotor blade will be loaded the following day and transported to the wind farm during the night. A total of 15 rotor blades will be transported to the wind farm. As the transports are weather-dependent, the exact dates cannot be predicted at this stage.
Transport route and road closures
The rotor blades, each approximately 80 metres long, will first be transported by heavy goods vehicles via the A 46 motorway, Hüsten exit, to the transhipment area behind Müschede. They will then be transported by blade lifters via Hachen, Sundern, Amecke, the Amecker Sorpedamm and the L 686 country road to the wind farm area – a total of around 19.5 km.
During transport, there may be temporary road closures along the route, which will be regulated by the escort vehicles as necessary. The transports may only be observed from a safe distance from the roadside. PNE asks all guests to follow the instructions of the construction site personnel.
Night transport with catering planned along the transport route
The PNE Group is delighted that citizens will have the opportunity to witness the spectacular transports live and follow the construction progress of the wind farm. During one of the later night-time transports, PNE will provide residents with a small snack in the form of bratwurst at a junction along the route, which is yet to be named. The exact date and location will be announced separately.
