Bebensee wind farm officially inaugurated – PNE invites the region for exchange and on-site tour
- Residents and interested parties were able to experience the wind farm first-hand – including a tour of a wind turbine.
- Five modern turbines with a total capacity of 34 MW supply green electricity for around 33,000 households
Bebensee, 15 June 2026 – The Bebensee wind farm was officially inaugurated on Friday as part of a ceremony held on site together with guests from the region. The PNE Group, together with Encavis, an operator of wind and solar parks and owner of the wind farm since the end of 2025, invited attendees to get to know the project directly at the site and gain insights into its development, construction and operation.
The wind farm is located in the municipalities of Mözen and Bebensee in Schleswig-Holstein and has been in operation since October 2025. A total of five Nordex N163 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 34 MW generate climate-friendly electricity there. This is sufficient to supply approximately 33,000 three-person households per year.
Insights on site and exchange with the region
Numerous guests from the region, including local residents, landowners as well as representatives from politics, administration and the project environment, took the opportunity to engage in on-site discussions. Local government officials, as well as Prof. Dr. Ulrike Täck, a member of the Schleswig-Holstein State Parliament, were also in attendance and emphasized the project’s importance for the region and state politics.
The focus was on information about the development of the wind farm and the functioning of modern wind turbines. A special highlight was the opportunity to view a wind turbine from close range. In addition, the event provided space for discussions and personal insights into the project.
"The inauguration is a good opportunity for us to say thank you – for the support and the trusting cooperation on site," said Claus Hoffmann, project manager during the construction phase. Stephan Eidinger, Head of Land Management at PNE, added: "At the same time, we are delighted to give so many interested people a direct impression of the wind farm."
Operation and regional presence
At the end of 2025, the Bebensee wind farm was sold to Encavis. Nevertheless, the PNE Group remains closely connected to the project: energy consult GmbH is responsible for the technical and commercial operation management and ensures the reliable operation of the turbines.
As part of the project, PNE has also initiated the formation of a support association. Landowners voluntarily contribute a portion of their lease income to this fund. Local organizations and projects can apply for grants from these funds to support their initiatives.
The PNE Group has been active in the Segeberg district for many years and has successfully implemented several wind energy projects there. With the wind farms Heidmoor Extension, Lentföhrden and Stuvenborn, a total of four projects have been realized and transferred to the own generation portfolio. At the Bebensee site, PNE also plans to further develop the project, for example by expanding the wind farm and adding photovoltaic systems, as well as storage solutions in the future.
In this way, PNE contributes to the expansion of renewable generation capacities in the Segeberg district, strengthens local value creation and remains present on site as an operator in the long term.
