Målarberget wind farm.
Construction of a wind farm on rocky ground.
The Målarberget wind farm is located in the municipalities of Avesta and Norberg in the province of Västmanland, 150 kilometres northwest of Stockholm. The wind farm is situated in a forest owned by Sveaskog and private landowners. Construction of the wind farm began in mid-2019, and it has been in operation since the summer of 2021. In total, Målarberget consists of 27 wind turbines, each with 4.2 MW and a total height of 200 m.
As a first for the PNE Group, the foundations of around 20 turbines were anchored in the ground. Since the ground was rocky, different blasting operations have to be carried out to construct the path and foundations.
The project was developed by the Swedish subsidiary VKS Vindkraft Sverige AB, which will also be building the wind farm for the buyer. The PNE Group was also responsible for the sale and sold the project rights to the Israeli company Enlight Renewable Energy.
